Stuffed Hearty Apples (Oven Baked)
Sweet stuffed apples, baked in the oven – a mere resemblance of apple pie in a spoon. However, they are much simpler and healthier to eat.
Servings: 6 people
- 6-8 medium apples of choice
- ½ cup golden raisins small
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or nuts of choice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp brown sugar optional
Wash apples under cold water. With sharp knife make a small circle around the center.
Then, using a spoon gently scoop out the inside of the apple, leaving no seeds.
In a medium mixing bowl combine, raisins, walnuts, cinnamon and sugar and stir well.
Using a spoon, load the apples with the mix and arrange in a baking dish of choice. It's recommended to leave room for the apple juice that gets around the apples during baking.
Bake in preheated oven (350F/180C) for about 15-20 min, or until apples are soft.
Serve warm, topped with the juice that formed throughout the baking process (mm, yum!).

If the filling seems too much or too little (depending on the circle you make in the apples), simply add more or set aside some of it for later. To avoid waste, you can eat the remaining ‘stuffing’ (I’m usually guilty of that around the house).
