Best Mashed Potatoes
Creamy and dreamy homemade mashed potatoes in french style. Require minimal effort and turn perfect each time.
Servings: 6 people
- 3-6 medium potatoes
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 5 tbsp butter
- salt to taste
- water for boiling
Wash potatoes under cold water and peel skin off (I prefer using a peeler). Cut in large chunks and place in (sauce) pan with lid. Then cover potatoes with cold water (just above potatoes level). Cover with lid and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to medium and let cook completely. Once potatoes are cooked, transfer in large bowl (while still hot) without the water. I prefer using mixing bowls. Then add (hot!) milk, butter and salt. Whisk gently with fork until butter melts within hot potatoes and milk. Then whisk all with hand mixer (using beaters) on low speed until there are no lumps in the mixture. Top with favorite toppings (like green onions, ham, etc.) and serve warm.
-> Vegetarian, gluten-free, kid-friendly; Easy and tasty side meal :)
-> If you wish to make the mashed potatoes milk-free, simply use the water in which they were boiling (skinless) and add some extra butter as needed. The mashed potatoes will turn equally good.
